1. City License
City licenses can be purchased at HSNBA for $5.00. A current rabies certificate is required at the time of purchase. If the animal is spayed or neutered your animal is eligible for a life time license. You must maintain a current rabies vaccination and bring proof to the shelter on a yearly basis. The city of New Braunfels only recognizes the one year vaccination.

3. End Of Life Euthanasia
Coping with the impending loss of a pet is one of the most difficult experiences a pet parent will face. Whether your furry friend is approaching his golden years or has been diagnosed with a terminal illness, it’s important to calmly guide the end-of-life experience and minimize any discomfort or distress. As your pet’s health declines, you may elect to care for your pet at home—with the supervision of a veterinarian—or you may decide to end his suffering with euthanasia. (credit www.aspca.org/pet-care/end-life-care-faq) At HSNBA, rates for end of life service are based on the weight of the animal. You cannot be present for the procedure and we will dispose of the body for you (for a $15 fee) or return the body to you.
You may obtain a microchip for your animal that will be registered in a national database. It only costs $20.00 and you do not need an appointment. If you have already had your animal microchipped through the Humane Society and need to update your animal’s information in the national database, please visit your account at 24PetWatch.com or FoundAnimals.Org.
5. Trap Rental
Animal control will pick up wildlife or stray cats as long as they are confined. It is legal to trap, as long as the trap is located on your property. You may use your own trap or a trap rented from the HSNBA. When renting from the HSNBA, there is a $50.00 deposit that is refundable when the trap is returned. This deposit needs to be made in cash or check only. Rental is $1.00 per day for the first fourteen days and $5.00 for each additional day. We will need a current driver’s license with the address showing where the trap will be located.
