What Do HSNBA Volunteers Do?
At HSNBA we have a variety of volunteer opportunities for everyone. Here are just a few of the positions we are looking to fill:
Ensure all visitors to the shelter are greeted with a smile and answers to their questions.
Cat Wellness Volunteers
Ensure cats in the care of HSNBA are healthy, happy and ready to meet their new families! This includes but is not limited to cat socializing, grooming and general cat care.
Dog Wellness Volunteers
Ensure dogs in the care of HSNBA are healthy, happy and ready to meet their new families! This includes but is not limited to dog walking, grooming and basic training.
Often pets that find themselves at HSNBA are not quite ready for adoption. They need a loving home to live in until they are old enough, or well enough to return to the shelter for adoption.
The Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area is a 501(c)3 and we are always looking for folks with fundraising experience or grant writing experience to help us earn the funds we need to run the kind of animal shelter we can all be proud of!
Attend and assist with offsite adoption events and other community activities throughout the area.
Reuniting lost pets with their owners is a very rewarding part of what we do at HSNBA, but we could use some extra help to monitor a variety of websites against our “guests” to get lost pets back home.
Photography and Videography Assistants
Photographing and taking short videos of our shelter pets helps immensely in marketing them to potential adopters online.
Trap-Neuter-Release is a program that vaccinates and spays or neuters feral cats and returns them to the area from which they came. In 2015 we are going to start a brand new TNR Program and will need a lot of community involvement to pull it off!
Sometimes a cat or dog just needs to hitch a ride! Transporting pets to vet appointments and offsite adoption events is a huge help!
Vet Services Assistants
Pets in the care of HSNBA sometimes need medicine, always need up to date vaccines and get microchips before going to their forever homes, volunteers can help!
