Kennel Comforters Sewing Group

The New Braunfels Public Library is hosting a monthly sewing time for Kennel Comforters on the 4th Friday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Kennel Comforters use donated materials to create beds for cats and dogs at the Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area.

“We heard about a group of volunteers sewing beds for the animal shelter and decided this would be a great
opportunity to support the Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area.,” commented Toni Davenport, Adult Services Librarian. “These beds not only provide comfort while the animals are in the shelter, but when they go home with their new families, the pets keep the bed for their new lifelong homes as well.”

“If you have a sewing machine, you can bring it to help sew. If you don’t have a sewing machine, the volunteers can still use your help preparing materials for the beds. No need to sign up – just show up,” Davenport said.

This program is free, open to the public and no registration is necessary. Many library programs are made
possible with the support of The Friends of the New Braunfels Public Library.
