"Teagan has stolen our hearts. Although only about 11 months old and 34 pounds, she had a rough start in life. She lived in a home with an elderly person and 10 other dogs. Sadly, the dogs probably never left the property or met other people. That lack of socialization as a puppy means it takes Teagan a while to warm up to new people and new experiences. All 10 dogs ended up at HSNBA, and Teagan was among the most fearful.
BUT, once Teagan is comfortable with you, you have her heart forever!
When we brought Teagan home to foster, it took her several days to decompress, and she was very fearful of her new environment. She gradually warmed up and became a "whole new dog" with a friendly and gentle disposition. Teagan loves doing zoomies around the yard, and she walks great on a leash. She is still learning not to fear other people when she first meets them. Teagan is crate-trained and potty-trained. At first, she was nervous about car rides. Now she looks forward to them and eagerly jumps in the car!
Teagan’s perfect family has other dogs and maybe even teenagers. She loves going on long walks. An active traveling couple would be a good match for her, too. Teagan needs someone patient who will get her out of her comfort zone to help with socialization. She’s still so young and has so much potential, and with the right people, she will thrive. She gets along with other dogs and can co-exist with cats.
