My adoption fee has been waived thanks to Petfinder and Kia!
Ishtar - (Now DAMSEL) was picked up by our fabulous New Braunfels Animal Welfare and Protection officers as a stray, scoring a ride in the FRONT seat back to the shelter! She is so friendly and well behaved, we were shocked she was not reclaimed by an owner.
DAMSEL is a German Shepherd mix, about 60 pounds, spayed, heartworm negative and vaccinated and microchipped. She was lucky enough to find a foster home and here is what they have to say about her:
"Initially, we were hoping to keep Ishtar forever, but we just know she will feel safer in a family . She doesn’t really respond to Ishtar so I had been calling her Damsel (damsel in distress). She responds to that name. She follows me everywhere including my potty breaks. She doesn’t go outside without me being out there , hates to be on the other side of a door from the human. Rides great in car. She loves other dogs and I think Dust the rabbit and her have a flirting relationship. She's so gentle with the bunny, she'd probably be fine with cats too!"
