In general, it takes up to 3 months to get used to your family’s routine. If you are likely to encounter problems, they will be at their most intense after 3 weeks when an animal is getting past a “honeymoon period” and growing confident in their place in a home. The first 3 days an animal is just decompressing after their stressful stay at a shelter.
